Clive Botha, also known as "The Cartist" is a professional automotive artist and designer based in the metropolitan city of Nelson Mandela Bay, located in the Eastern Cape province, South Africa. Clive's love for cars must be as old as he is, because he doesn’t recall when it started. Growing up in the ‘motor city’ of South Africa, cars have had a strong presence in his life.

Clive Botha's passion for art led him to study graphic design at the Nelson Mandela University, after which he worked in the automotive media and communications field for over a decade, managing his own digital media agency, called MotorMedia Communications.

In 2015, he rediscovered a passion for automotive art, dusted off my sketch pad and pencils and reimmersed himself into his passion. Clive Botha went on to create "The Cartist" - a full-service automotive art and design agency, working for clients for clients in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia as well as countries across Europe and the Middle East, ranging from corporates and collectors to owners and enthusiasts.

From Pencil to Pixel to Paint - Clive Botha creates unique automotive drawings, car paintings and designs, specialising in classic and contemporary sports and performance cars for clients worldwide. In addition, everything from the drawing and painting materials he uses (markers, pens, pencils and acrylic paints) to the packaging that the artwork is shipped in, is authentic and of the highest quality. Old-school techniques are combined with modern materials to make sure that every commissioned artwork or design that leaves the agency is a beautiful masterpiece!
